Information For Students With Disabilities

We tailor help to your needs

ALS stands for “Additional Learning Support”. We’re here to help you get the best out of your time at College, whether you have a learning difficulty, disability or other learning need.

Why We're Different

An Inclusive College Blackburn College is unique in the way that it supports all students to study together. This means that whatever the learning difficulty or disability, support can be found to study alongside other students without disabilities. And it doesn’t matter what the course is.

How We Can Support You

We strongly advise you to contact our Learning Support Team, preferably before you apply. Come along on an Open Day or contact us to arrange an individual visit so you can look around the college and discuss your support needs.

The college can offer advice and guidance through the application stages. Contact Student Services and/or the Learning Support team. Priority is given to those who contact us early because of the large number of supported students.

What We Do

We’re committed to supporting all students to get the best out of their time at College or at our University Centre. We’ve even won awards because of our ground-breaking work. Additional Learning Support (ALS) tailor-make their support to you, the individual. We’ll work together with you to ensure all your support needs are met.
