A-Level Programmes and Pathways

Blackburn College Sixth Form offers 29 A-Levels and our main focus is to ensure our students are supported and challenged to achieve the best possible results and opportunities to progress to their chosen university.

Following discussions with universities, we found that there are certain subjects that when taken together, better help students progress onto related degrees. This is why our A-Level pathways have been aligned to 8 key career areas.

Of course you can still make your own choice of which A-Levels you would like to study – having the opportunity to set up your own bespoke A-Level study programme is still available.

How many A-Levels should I study?

You will either study 3 or 4 A Level subjects over the 2 years. Your study programme will also include academic skills development, employability based activities, curriculum specific enrichment and work experience.
