Job Description

A Business Administration Apprentice is required to join an extremely busy school office. Duties will include clerical support in way of filing, photocopying, faxing, emailing and completing routine forms.

Main Duties: 

  1. To undertake routine clerical duties in relation to the organisation of out of school activities as and when required
  2. To provide routine clerical support in relation to the production of specific materials e.g. school newsletters, school prospectus etc.
  3. Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, emailing, complete routine forms
  4. Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems
  5. Undertake typing, word-processing and other IT based tasks
  6. Sort and distribute mail
  7. Undertake routine administration e.g. registers/school meals
  8. To undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors
  9. Operate office equipment
  10. Undertake routine financial administration
  11. Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection


As the position is in a school day to day contact will be with all school staff, parents, children and the general community

Qualifications required

5 GCSE's at Grades A*-C (including Maths, English and ICT) desirable.

Candidates will be required to undertake initial assessment at Blackburn College.
