Situated in the market town of Todmorden, lies the 17th Century Hare & Hounds.

Originally built as a farmhouse, the Hare & Hounds offer a traditional pub atmosphere with a spacious open plan lounge and original stone fireplace.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 budding Apprentice Chefs who share our passion for quality, local, seasonal produce and warm hospitality, so if you have an appetite for a real career opportunity then this could prove very tempting.

As Apprentice Commis Chef you will prepare fresh food daily, carry out cleaning duties, stock rotation and stock ordering.

You will be part of a small team who are dedicated to providing fresh, seasonal produce for a set menu as well as changing the weekly specials.

Intermediate Apprenticeship – Level 2 Professional Cookery      

Proposed Duration

12-15 months

Training to be Provided

All aspects of NVQ Level 2 Professional Cookery or Level 2 Food Production and Cooking. Will be trained in the workplace and assessed either totally in the workplace or one day release at college.

Future Prospects

It's hard work but very rewarding. The level of commitment required in terms of time, study and sheer application is high but those who complete the Apprenticeship may secure a permanent position.
