Job Description

The kitchen contains a small team so the successful candidate will get the opportunity and will be expected to get involved in all levels of the preparation and cooking.

We work with fresh produce from local providers to create traditional and modern dishes.

The successful applicant will learn how to cook a variety of foods and dishes.

Role :      

 

      to assist the catering coordinator in every aspect of the kitchen including cooking, cleaning, paperwork etc.

      to attend college and gain a qualification

 

Duties :

               

      assistance in the daily preparation of all ingredients and dishes

      making simple dishes moving up to a small section when fully trained

      plating up of simple dishes & helping on the till

      assisting catering team on all sections

      daily cleaning

      paperwork as required by the company

      all legislation and company policies & procedures

      setting up catering & conferencing for events

      help and assist you to improve your skills via college and in house training

Person Specification

Skills required

Good attention to detail regarding all aspects of Food Hygiene

Personal Qualities

Enthusiasm, good work ethic and attitude, willingness to learn, reliable, honest

Qualifications

No qualifications required however applicants must undertake an initial assessment at the college.

Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship

Intermediate Apprenticeship – Level 2 Professional Cookery                      

Proposed Duration

Minimum of 12 months, maximum of 15 months

Training to be Provided

All aspects of NVQ Level 2 Professional Cookery or Level 2 Food Production and Cooking.

Will be trained in the workplace with one day release at college.
