Job Description

The Lower Buck Inn is a country pub offering traditional, home made food. We are located in Waddington, Clitheroe.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Chef to be part of a rapidly growing business in our busy country pub.

 

As Apprentice Chef your main duties will include working alongside Chef/s learning practical cookery/food preparation skills.

You will work using safe and hygienic working practices.

As Apprentice Chef you will be trained how to:

use knives,

work to multiple food checks,

prepare dishes according to our menu,

organise your work area,

work to Environmental Health and Safety standards.

The ideal candidate should be able to work in a team, use their own initiative and be proactive and confident in their approach to work. 

This role includes weekend work/flexible hours on a rota basis. Applicant must be willing to work split shifts (if required).

Qualifications

Minimum Level 1 qualification

Must have the ability to undertake an initial assessment at the college.

Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship

Intermediate Apprenticeship – Level 2 Professional Cookery                      

Proposed Duration

Minimum of 12 months, maximum of 15 months

Training to be Provided

All aspects of NVQ Level 2 Professional Cookery or Level 2 Food Production and Cooking.

Will be trained in the workplace and assessed either totally in the workplace or one day release at college.
