- Job Description
The role will be to assist the Nursery Chef in preparing healthy, balanced, nutritious meals for the children in the nursery and out of school facilities.
The candidate will gain knowledge in the setting and also at college.
The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen and will understand the importance of food hygiene.
They will have a passion for food and will have experience in basic food preparation.
Experience of forming good relationships and communicating with young children would be advantageous but is not essential for the role.
The candidate must have a clear DBS and must attend safeguarding and paediatric first aid courses whilst working for the company, as well as any mandatory training from their college course.

Skills required/Personal Qualities
Basic knowledge of food preparation and food hygiene.
Friendly, capable, good listening skills, good communication skills, able to follow instructions
Must have the ability to undertake an initial assessment at the college.

Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship
Minimum of 12 months, maximum of 15 months
Training to be Provided
All aspects of NVQ Level 2 Food Production and Cooking.
Will be trained in the workplace and assessed either totally in the workplace or one day release at college.
Possible permanent employment on successful completion of the Apprenticeship
