Job Description

Gibbon Bridge is an award winning country hotel with 30 bedrooms and 23 acres of award winning gardens. 

Situated in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, we offer fine dining at its best with produce sourced from our own kitchen gardens and local suppliers, as well as having our own onsite bakery providing freshly baked bread, biscuits, cakes, desserts and preserves.

As Apprentice Chef, your main duties will include working alongside Chef/s learning practical cookery/food preparation skills.

You will work using safe and hygienic working practices.

You will be trained how to use knives, work to multiple food checks, prepare dishes according to our menu, organize your work area and work to Environmental Health and Safety standards. 

The ideal candidate should be able to work in a team, use their own initiative and be proactive and confident in their approach to work.

Things to Consider 

The applicant would benefit from having own transport or car shares may be available from the Garstang/Longridge/Clitheroe. The employer is offering this position with live in accommodation (if required).

Qualifications

Maths and English Language GCSE A*-C or equivalent qualifications preferred. However training will be undertaken as part of the apprenticeship if you haven't already achieved this.

Apprenticeship – Level 2 Professional Cookery (Monday day release at College)

Proposed Duration

Minimum of 12-14 months

Duration can vary depending on commitment/experience of candidate

Training to be Provided

All aspects of Level 2 Professional Cookery. Will be trained in the workplace and assessed at College.
