Job Description

Studio 23 are a friendly, professional team who dedicate themselves to ensuring the client experience is relaxing and therapeutic. The salon is based in Great Harwood. They are looking to recruit a hairdressing apprentice to join their team

The successful candidate will be expected to display a high level of professionalism and work well under pressure.

They must possess excellent communication skills when dealing with the public.

A professional approach to this industry is paramount as interaction with the general public is on-going. The suitable candidate must show passion for the industry.

The job role will include basic hairdressing, cutting, blow-drying and colouring.

You will be expected to meet and greet clients, make and serve drinks, carry out Reception duties and cleaning duties

Training will be given on a weekly basis in the work place; this may follow the college programme. Monthly or weekly meetings/appraisals may be given.

There may be at least one late night per week and Saturday/Sunday work

 

 

Person Specification

Skills

The employer would prefer some basic skills in shampooing and blow-drying, however self-motivation and a willingness to learn are essential

Level 2 in Hairdressing

GCSE's in Maths and English at grades A* – C or equivalent qualifications preferred, however functional skills can be gained in college if these cannot be produced

Training To Be Provided:

NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing. You will be trained both at College (one day per week) and in Salon.
