Job Description

Halo is a new hair salon based in Darwen.

 

The salon is run by a well-established team who have a high standard of professionalism and customer service.

 

The team are currently looking to recruit a Hairdressing Apprentice to join them.

The successful candidate will be expected to display a high level of professionalism, work well under pressure and must possess excellent communication skills as dealing with the public is ongoing.

The suitable candidate must show passion for the industry.

The job role will include meeting and greeting clients, making and serving drinks, reception duties and cleaning rota duties.

The Stylist will expect you to work closely alongside her, observing and assisting with colouring shampooing and blow-drying.

 

Training will be given on a weekly basis in the work place; this may follow the college programme. Monthly or weekly meetings/appraisals may be given

 

There may be at least one late night per week and Saturday/Sunday work

 

 

 

Person Specification

Skills

The employer would prefer some basic skills in shampooing and blow-drying, however self-motivation and a willingness to learn are essential

Qualifications required

GCSE's in Maths and English at grades A* – C or equivalent qualifications preferred, however functional skills can be gained in college if these cannot be produced.

Training To Be Provided:

NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing. You will be trained both at College (one day per week) and in Salon.
