Job Description

Heiress is a salon based in Blackburn Town Centre.

The team have a high standard of professionalism and customer service and are looking to recruit a L2 Hairdressing Apprentice to join their team.

The successful candidate will be expected to display a high of professionalism. 

The suitable candidate must show passion for the industry.

 

The stylists will expect you to work closely alongside them observing assisting with colouring shampooing and blow-drying.

Training will be given on a weekly basis in the work place; this may follow the college programme. Monthly or weekly meetings/appraisals may be given.

 

The training the college will provide on a weekly basis and will comprise of:

  • Style and finish hair (blow drying)

  • Set and dress hair

  • Cut hair using basic techniques

  • Colour and lighten hair

  • Advise and consult with clients

  • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp

  • Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work

  • Perm and neutralise hair

Skills

No prior skills needed, although a passion for barbering, self-motivation and a willingness to learn are essential

GCSE's in Maths and English at grades A* – C or equivalent qualifications preferred, however functional skills can be gained in college if these cannot be produced

There may be at least one late night per week and Saturday/Sunday work

12-15 Months

Training To Be Provided:

NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing. You will be trained both at College (one day per week) and in Salon.

Future Prospects:

Possibility of progression to Level 3, full time employment or of being self-employed within the Salon
