Our College

Blackburn College is passionate about innovative teaching and learning practice and committed to growing and developing our provision in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).   Our facilities are some of the best in the area with environmental technology workshops, mechanical workshop, electrical laboratories, a mock bungalow, CAD facilities and a real life plant room.

 

Our Requirements

We are looking to build a bank of highly qualified, enthusiastic and extremely flexible self-employed Assessors to take responsibility for the completion of learner portfolios in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements on an adhoc basis to support fluctuation in caseload. The key duties of the self-employed Associate Assessor role include:

  • Responsible for direct assessment of candidates in the work place and completion of progress reviews
  • Create assessment plans with candidates and assess supporting evidence, providing feedback for individual candidates
  • Completion of appropriate paperwork to ensure timely completion of the apprenticeship framework

 

We are looking for individuals who possess the following:

  • Qualified to TAQA (A1,D32, 33) with a relevant academic or industry related qualification

  • You will need to be self-employed, on the DBS update service and demonstrate compliance with IR35 regulations

  • Be readily available for short-term adhoc engagement to support specific learner portfolio completion
