What will I study?

Modules:

AD1    Management in procurement and supply    

    Understand the development of management and organisational behaviour
  • Understand the main approaches to managing individuals involved in the procurement and supply process
  • Understand the main approaches to managing work groups or teams involved in the procurement and supply function
  • Be able to develop a plan for the main aspects of human resource management for the procurement and supply function

Exam format (3 hours). Pass mark 50%. Unseen case of around 500 words and four questions each worth 25 marks, each testing a different learning outcome.  Questions should be answered within the context of the case.

 

AD2    Managing risks in supply chains

    Understand the nature of affecting supply chains
  • Understand how effective project management can mitigate in supply chains
  • Understand the main process in managing supply chains
  • Be able to propose risk management strategies to mitigate risks in supply chains

Exam format (3 hours). Pass mark 50%. Unseen case of around 500 words and four questions each worth 25 marks, each testing a different learning outcome.  Questions should be answered within the context of the case.

 

AD3    Improving the competitiveness of supply chains  

    Understand the dynamics of supply chains
  • Understand the main methodologies that can improve supply chains
  • Be able to develop a plan to achieve competitive advantage in supply chains
  • Understand the techniques for supplier development to improve supply chains

Exam format (3 hours). Pass mark 50%
Pre-released case. The case will be 12-15 pages long and based on a realistic organisation. The case is published on the website at least four weeks in advance of the exam date to allow candidates to analyse the information and prepare for the exam. The exam is open-book and there will be four exam questions each worth 25 marks, each testing a different learning outcome.  Questions should be answered within the context of the case

 

AD4    Category Management in procurement and supply

    Understand approaches that can be adopted to develop strategic sourcing and category management for a mix of procurement expenditures
  • Be able to create a plan for strategic sourcing or category management process
  • Be able to develop an implementation plan for strategic sourcing or category management process
  • Understand the main aspects of performance improvement for strategic sourcing or category management process

 

Module Exam format (3 hours). Pass mark 50%.  Four exam questions each worth 25 marks, each testing a different learning outcome

 

AD6    Operations Management in supply chains

    Understand the content and scope of operations management in supply chain organisations
  • Understand aspects of the design of operations management in supply chain organisations
  • Understand capacity planning and control in operations management in supply chains
  • Understand the main improvement technologies that can be applied in operations management

 

Module Exam format (3 hours). Pass mark 50%.  Four exam questions each worth 25 marks, each testing a different learning outcome

Entry Requirements

You will already have completed the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply. You also need to obtain membership with CIPS.

Examination
