Overview

The course is open to anyone interested in learning to sew and wanting to learn how to use a sewing machine.

What will I study?

You will learn how to operate domestic and industrial machines to produce some samples using the correct stitches and techniques such as straight stitch, zigzag stitch, seams and hems.

Entry Requirements

No qualifications are needed just an interest in learning to sew.

How will I be assessed?

There are no assessments.

What can I do next?

Candidates can progress onto the next Sewing Workshop, whereby you are able to move on to a basic level construction or pattern adaptation of a garment or soft furnishing.

Other opportunities for progression once a strong body of work is gained are UAL Level 3 in Textiles, Fashion and Interiors or FDA in Contemporary Textiles, Fashion or Interiors.
