Overview

Building on knowledge gained from the Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning you will undertake the following units to obtain the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting School Sport and PE.

 

    Plan Physical Education and School Sport Programmes
  • Deliver Physical Education and School Sport Programmes
  • Review the Delivery of a Physical Education and School Sport Programme
What will I study?

In planning for Physical Education and School Sport you will gather information on the National Curriculum Programme of Study for Physical Education and use this to devise a schedule to assess pupil(s‘) levels of achievement against baseline achievement levels for the Key Stage they are in and pupils‘ needs to contribute to the planning of a High-Quality Physical Education and School Sport programme.

You will then Plan, Deliver and Review a Unit of Work that provides High-Quality Physical Education and School Sport curricular and extra-curricular activities, under the supervision of a suitably qualified teacher, within this you will assess pupil(s‘) levels of achievement against baseline achievement levels for the Key Stage they are in and pupils‘ needs.         

Entry Requirements
    You must be employed in a school for a minimum of 15 hours per week.
  • You should be working (or have the opportunity to) in a level 3 role.
  • You will need to be supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
  • You will need to have a good standard of literacy and numeracy (preferably a Level 2 qualification)
  • Evidence of support from your school
  • You will need a mentor in your workplace
  • You must be at least 19 years of age
