The Business A-Level is a dynamic and relevant subject for those who are interested in the world of Business, and the many careers that you can progress to. The course will help you develop a wide range of employability skills, including problem solving, collaboration, leadership and critical evaluation, so it fits well with other subjects.
You will study in some depth, all the major aspects of the corporate world and the significant factors which influence business performance and success. We endeavour to involve you with real business as much as possible by bringing in business people and organisations, and it’s possible that some of the learning will take place externally.

In the first year, you will study:

- The role of managers and leaders
- The decision making process and how it contributes to improvements in marketing performance
- Operational performance
- Financial performance
- Human resource performance.
In the second year, you will study:
- Analysing the strategic position of a business
- How to choose a strategic direction
- Strategic methods
- Managing strategic change.
- Entry Requirements
To study A-Level Business Studies you will need 5 Cs at GCSE (or equivalent i.e. grade 4 in reformed GCSEs)

A-Level students will be assessed by exams and assignments throughout the two years.

Business Studies is an ideal subject for preparation to progress onto a wide range of university courses and apprenticeships, especially in areas such as business, economics, management, retailing, enterprise, finance, accountancy and administration. It is a very useful starting point for careers in the business world as you will have a firm grounding of the day to day running of a business.
