A-Level Government and Politics is a vital and lively subject that deals with the most relevant and significant issues of the day. If you want to know how the country works, who is in charge and how to influence them this is the subject for you. The study of politics is an exciting, intellectual challenge where students can deploy a variety of skills: debate and discussion, the ability to create an effective argument and analyse information to make valid judgements.
- What will I study?
In the first year, students will learn about key channels of communication between government and people, and also look at the major processes in government such as the Houses of Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Constitution and the role of the Judiciary. In the second year students will study American politics including the Constitution, the electoral process and how American government works today.
- Entry Requirements
To study A-Level Government and Politics you will need 5 Cs at GCSE (or equivalent i.e. grade 4 in reformed GCSEs).

A-Level students will be assessed by written exam.
