AMSPAR Certificate in Health Service Administration
Who is the course for?
This programme has been designed for practising Primary and Secondary Care Receptionists and Administrators.
What will I study?
The AMSPAR Certificate in Health Service Administration will enable candidates to enhance their knowledge and skills within health care administration and will create a pathway to further study. The content of this 30-hour Programme is based on the main roles and responsibilities of a medical administrator. Candidates undertaking this course will gain, and be able to apply, knowledge of the structure and functions of the statutory and voluntary health and social services to enable them to work effectively as an administrator within the health care field. It will enable them to understand the working relationships between different sections and departments of the statutory and voluntary services, and to work as part of the health care team.
Candidates will be able to apply skills for effective communication with patients and members of the health service team and develop knowledge and understanding of Primary and Secondary care procedures, filing, the use of equipment and Information Technology. The Programme also aims to develop an understanding of health and safety in the workplace and its impact on the working environment, particularly with regard to hazards relating to the medical field.
This course of study will provide candidates with practical and personal skills to enable them to develop and progress as an administrator within the health care sector.

Course Entry Criteria
It is desirable that candidates will have been in post for at least six months, prior to commencement of the course, as some elements require a level of work experience.
The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:
• More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
• 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
• 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
• 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
• Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost
All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.

What can I do next?
Candidates successfully completing this Programme, and possessing relevant work experience, may progress to the AMSPAR Diploma in Primary Care and Health Management Programme.
How much does it cost?
The course fee is HAS BEEN REDUCED AND IS NOW ONLY £490.00 per delegate. (Prices are subject to change).
