Infographic offers teens ‘fun for a fiver’ – and a little career help

It isn’t easy to find something to do that doesn’t cost a small fortune nowadays and unfortunately most of us won’t have loads of money to throw about. Luckily, Blackburn College has put together a new infographic that gives teens a great choice of things to do in the region – for around a fiver.

The college has looked at a range of options for 14 to 16-year-olds likely to be on a budget, serving up some fantastic options for all tastes. If you’re keen on outdoor pursuits, there’s Lee Valley Golf Driving Range which is offering visitors a 50-ball game for just £2.50. Alternatively, there’s the chance to try your hand at rock climbing at Boulder UK, which you can do for as little as £4.40.

If you’d prefer something a bit more relaxing, there are great deals on bowling, theatre shows, laser quest and the local cinema – all for five quid or less. And for those who like to pamper themselves even more, there are offers on health and beauty treatments at spas and salons across the region for £5.50 or less. These include waxing, nail treatments, spray tanning and much more!

If you’re aged between 14 and 16, there’s every chance you’ll be thinking about your future and further education now that the end of secondary school is in sight. And guess what? The infographic has you covered there too. This is thanks to a selection of ‘BC Career Path’ QR codes that, when scanned with an enabled smartphone, will take you to one of the many related courses Blackburn College has to offer.

Love visiting the theatre? Why not consider studying drama and theatre studies? Prefer sports? There are a wide range of options and facilities for that too. Maybe you see yourself on the other side of the manicure table one day? No problem, Blackburn has a host of hairdressing and beauty therapy courses to consider.

If you were to enrol at Blackburn College, you’d have access to a range of fantastic facilities right in the heart of town. The college is now one of the largest and most successful in the region and offers everything from apprenticeships and practical skills training to vocational courses, A Levels and degrees.

So whether you’re considering your future and looking at possible career paths, or just living in the North West and looking for something fun to do for around a fiver, this infographic is well worth checking out.
