Information Systems Officer (Ref: 2047)

As you might expect, we’re looking for someone with proven experience of SQL Server administration, together with a strong background in IT systems, report writing and user support. Able to ensure that robust procedures and processes are established, you’ll constantly monitor Systems for security and functionality. In addition, you’ll be a natural team player, who can think creatively, act on your own initiative and work unsupervised. Joining our Information Systems Team, you’ll take responsibility for the main day-to-day administration functions of our SQL Server based systems. This will include effectively handling access control, data security, reporting, as well as performing backups, system monitoring and general support. Able to quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of the system’s operation and functionality, you’ll competently handle software upgrades and configuration, as well as provide staff training. What’s more, you’ll advise on best use, assist in designing and writing of reports, to meet identified requirements, and ensure up-to-date documentation of administration procedures.

What’s more, to ensure all our equipment and insurance responsibilities are met, you’ll also take the lead on all internal and external audits. Temporary Part Time Assessor in IT (Ref: 2054)

You will be required to work as part of the team delivering work based training involving Apprenticeships, T2G’s and NVQ’s to employees within companies. You will liaise with employers to co-ordinate and organise the training and assessment of learners in the workplace. You will be responsible for conducting regular work place visits, health & safety appraisals and for monitoring, measuring and recording learners’ progress. You must have a relevant qualification at Level 3, be qualified to A1 (D32 and D33) or working towards. You must also be a car owner / driver with access to your own vehicle.

Required to work as part of a team of Training Advisors, responsible to the Curriculum Centre Manager. You will be responsible for recruiting new employers and apprentices as well as conducting regular work place visits and monitoring trainees on apprenticeship programmes on behalf of the Centre. You will also be required to carry out workplace health & safety appraisals. You must have experience of working within an area of Business Administration, be qualified to Level 3 or above in a relevant occupational area. You must also have ownership of a car and have a current driving licence. You must be versatile and prepared to respond to the ever changing employer responsive agenda.

Lecturer in Media Production (Ref: 920)

Our Creative Arts and Construction Curriculum Centre offers a wide range of cutting-edge, practical and popular courses. It’s within this vibrant and creative environment that you’ll teach media production and theory on a range of FE courses including BTEC levels 2 & 3 and pre-degree foundation. Setting, marking and recording students’ work, you must also provide feedback, actively contribute to course reviews and develop ideas that will improve and enhance future teaching. In addition, you must visit students in their workplaces for assessment, when necessary, as well as accurately maintain course records. To succeed, you must have a degree, HND or relevant production/industrial experience in the media industries, together with a PGCE, or similar, or be willing to work towards one. Naturally, your background will have given you a good understanding of audio and video production, as well as their practical and theoretical applications. Naturally flexible in your approach, you’ll be a strong team player who is always striving to make improvements and ultimately enhance the learning experience.
