Business Professional Office Skills (Level 1-3)

The OCR Text Processing (Business Professional) suite provides candidates with high quality, professionally recognised qualifications. They are vocationally-related qualifications that provide valuable opportunities for individuals who wish to prepare for employment in a modern business environment.

The units studied will assist you in gaining knowledge and understanding of applications that meet the requirements of a modern business environment. You will also develop core business skills in areas such as keyboard functions and creating complex and specialist business documents.

What will I study?

A combination of the following options is offered.

  • Word Processing
  • Medical Word Processing
  • Legal Text Processing
  • Audio-Transcription
  • Medical Audio Transcription
  • Legal Audio Transcription
  • Business Presentations
  • Document Presentation
  • Mailmerge
  • Speed Keying
  • Computer Keyboard Skills

Each unit carries a credit value. As you achieve units, the total number of credits gained within a qualification profile is considered against the full qualification’s requirements and a certificate issued on successful completion.

Entry Requirements

GCSE English Language – Grade C (or an English assessment may be taken) plus a minimum keyboarding speed of 15 words per minute.

Duration

The course a full year course and you will need to attend college for 10 hours per weeks.

Assessment

OCR external examinations are offered three times a year – January, March and June.
