Professional Qualifications

Professional Qualifications are the qualifications required to practice at a high level in certain jobs or professions. They are as suited to younger members of staff as they are to senior management. The exceptional breadth of Professional Qualifications Blackburn College offers is rare within the North West. As the largest College in Pennine Lancashire, we are the regional centre for much of this provision.

CIPD

 
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is Europe’s largest HR development professional body. Globally recognised brands with over 135,000 members, the CIPD pride themselves on supporting and developing those responsible for the management and development of people within organisations. If you’re involved in a HR function of a business, or responsible for managing and developing people, our two CIPD courses should be of interest to you.
CIPD Certificate in Human Resources Practice (Level 3)

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the world’s largest organisation for professional marketers. At University Centre at Blackburn College we run two extremely popular courses from the CIM suite of qualifications: the Certificate in Marketing and the Diploma in Marketing. The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership. If you’re a manager and you join the CMI and become a member you’re making a statement about your standards and your determination to continually develop your management skills. We have several courses that should interest you from the CMI suite of qualifications.

ILM

 
The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) offer a wide range of qualifications covering all aspects of leadership and management, along with specialist programmes in coaching and mentoring, HR and enterprise. We have a Level 3 Management course specific for anyone working in a Health or Social Care environment that will help you progress in your career.

CIPS

 
The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply is an international organisation, based in the UK, serving the purchasing and supply profession – they are the leading body representing the field of purchasing and supply chain management. At University Centre at Blackburn College we have four qualifications from the CIPS meaning that you can start at an introductory level and progress all the way to a Level 6 Graduate Diploma.
CIPS – Level 2 – Introductory Certificate (Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply)

ILEX

 
The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives is the professional body which represents 22,000 trainee and practising Chartered Legal Executives. Our role is to enhance the position and standing of Chartered Legal Executive lawyers in the legal profession. We offer two levels of qualifications with ILEX – the Level 3 and the Level 6 programmes.

AMSPAR

  
AMSPAR is The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists.  It was established in 1964 with the aim of creating and promoting appropriate qualifications, initially for those working as medical secretaries and subsequently for medical receptionists, administrators and practice managers.  At University Centre at Blackburn College we offer two qualifications for healthcare professionals – a Certificate and Level 5 Diploma which is the more advanced level.
