• Studied: Level 3 Housing / Property Management Apprenticeship
  • Secured a permanent position as a Rent and Income Officer at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing
"When I saw the advertisement for the Apprenticeship it sounded ideal for me, I would be able to study for a Level 3 qualification, work at the same time and also get the chance to spend more time with my children."

Andrea began her Level 3 Housing / Property Management Apprenticeship in September 2019. After only nine months into the Apprenticeship, Andrea secured a permanent position as a Rent and Income Officer.

This is testament to Andrea’s hard workdedication and ongoing learning of a wide range of knowledge, skills and behaviours which have been developed through the Apprenticeship and her placement at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing. This is an example of how quickly progression can be achieved in the Housing industry.

Andrea said: As a single mum with two children I had found myself stuck in a dead-end job working at a BookmakersI started there when my daughter was a baby and before I knew it ten years had passed. I had been looking into part-time education for a while but due to irregular working patterns I was unable to commit to any College courses.

When I saw the advertisement for the Apprenticeship it sounded ideal for me, I would be able to study for a Level 3 qualificationwork at the same time and also get the chance to spend more time with my children.

She added: “I was ecstatic when I was told I had been successful and couldn’t wait to get started, from there the past nine months have been a whirlwind. I have now secured a permanent position within Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and I’m able to continue with my qualification.

I am lucky to have an amazing tutor, Katie Wilson, who has not only helped me with regards to my studies but has given me the confidence in myself to know that I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind toThe knowledge and skills I have learned from her are progressing daily and I would like to thank her for all her support and look forward to completing my qualification next year.
