"I was told doing an Apprenticeship was one of the options so I decided to go ahead with it - I feel this was the best choice I made."
Faiza said: “I chose to do an Apprenticeship at Blackburn College as it was a local College and I wasn’t keen on going back to education, so I spoke to a Careers Advisor and asked what other options were available for me.
“I was told doing an Apprenticeship was one of the options so I decided to go ahead with it - I feel this was the best choice I made. I have worked hard and put maximum effort into everything to complete my Apprenticeship, which I did with Olive Medical Practice in Blackburn.
“My favourite part of the Apprenticeship was carrying out job roles on the Administration side and I have enjoyed learning about all different areas in the Business environment. Studying at Blackburn College has helped me to learn new skills which I have used in my workplace to become a successful individual.”
She added: “My tutor Emma (Croak) has been amazing help and supported me with her full potential throughout my Apprenticeship. Emma always gave me good feedback on every piece of work I submitted and was always happy to help whenever I struggled with anything. Emma also helped and prepared me for the work environment so I could do my best throughout the Apprenticeship.
“I am enjoying my job full-time job at Olive Medical Practice! I feel like a really valued staff member. My colleagues, my Practice Manager and my Deputy Manager all give me the support when needed and take full care of me. In the future I would like to go down the management route or even open my own business.”
Faiza’s tutor Emma Croak said: “Faiza was a valued member of the College classes and always contributed ideas and examples; she continued this when the sessions moved remotely due to COVID-19 lockdowns, which she adapted to extremely well.
“She has continued to carry out her job role and responsibilities at the Medical Practice during the pandemic as a key worker, which has shown her resilience and adaptability.
“Faiza’s knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviours have developed massively during her time on the Apprenticeship and this has been clear to see both in the workplace and through assessments that she has completed as part of her qualification.”
She added: “The level and standard of her written work has improved since the start of her Apprenticeship – as have her verbal communication skills – both of which are a vital part of her job role.
“Faiza is keen and willing to learn and she always completed assessments in a timely manner. It has been a pleasure to have Faiza as an Apprentice because she has grown and developed both personally and professionally. She has been rewarded with a full-time permanent contract at Olive Medial Practice.”
