Imran Ajaaib Gas Engineer

Imran Ajaaib
I found my time in Blackburn College life changing

Imran was the first Gas Engineering apprentice to go through the End Point Assessment process at Blackburn College, achieving distinction grades across all three elements.

“I found my time in Blackburn College life changing. My tutor recognised my potential and supported and encouraged me to utilise my skills and abilities in order to progress and achieve my results.

The best bit about my course was being taught by professional tutors and staff at the Saturn Centre. The centre has a very good setup of gas workshops with a variety of appliances so I was able to gain both practical experience and theoretical experience. This also enabled me to discuss what I learnt from my employer with my peers and I was informed of how to enhance my skills further and work in a more efficient and safer manner.

My tutor Jane Harbour went above and beyond in providing support and taught the course in an exceptional manner.  During the pandemic, things were tough and there was a lot of uncertainty however my tutor went out of her way to help me and she was always available whenever I needed her assistance.

I am  currently working as a Gas Engineer and want to continue learning and developing new skills and experiences in order to progress in my career. I enjoy problem solving and putting my skills into practice.  I want to reach to a stage where I have a tremendous amount of knowledge and skills that I can use on a daily basis and to assist others.”
