Job Description

An exciting position has become available for an office Apprentice to join a fast expanding business based in Blackburn. To provide a full range of administrative and clerical support to the Star team.

We are a major supplier of hygiene paper products in the UK and Ireland. We have a very strong reputation in the industry for providing exceptional customer service and value for money, whilst adhering to the highest ethical and environmental standards. Recently we were nominated as the Top 1000 companies to Inspire Britain.

We are looking for an office apprentice who will provide support to the sales and accounts team and deliver an excellent service to our clients; this includes customer service, sales order processing, data entry and accounts support. Working flexibly in a small close knit team office environment; the successful applicant will need to have excellent attention to detail, good communication and organisational skills.

  • Customer service and support for over 500 customers

  • Answering telephone, dealing with Customer queries and welcoming visitors

  • General office administration.

  • Sales order processing and warehouse order management

  • General data entry keeping the Management information system accurate at all times.

  • Filing, photocopying, franking of mail as required

  • Other duties as requested



Person Specification

Desired Skills

Good customer care skills with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish working relationships by email, over the telephone and face to face

Be tenacious, accurate and have high attention to detail

Have strong IT Skills (Data Base, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word)

Be highly organised with ability to multitask and prioritise activities in line with business needs

Flexible in approach and enthusiastic with the ability to adapt as the role may vary depending upon business requirements

Personal Qualities

Pleasant, professional, polite, flexible, , patient, organised, and trustworthy

Desirable Qualifications

A*-C grades in Maths and English desirable

Future Prospects

Opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship at L3.
