Job Description

The company are looking for an Apprentice Barber to join them at their very busy shop. They have a wealth of experience and will give high quality training.

You will be expected to:

  • Meet and greet clients

  • Carry out basic Styling

  • Reception duties

  • Cleaning rota duties

Complete your Training

A professional approach to this industry is paramount as interaction with the general public is ongoing. The job role will include meeting and greeting clients, making and serving drinks, reception duties and cleaning duties. The Barber(s) will expect you to observe whilst they cut, and assist.

Training will be given on a weekly basis in the work place; this may follow the college programme. Monthly or weekly meetings/appraisals may be given

The training the college will provide on a weekly basis:

  • Provide client consultation services

  • Provide shaving services

  • Design and create a range of facial hair shapes

  • Creatively cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques

  • Design and create patterns in the hair

  • Colour and lighten men’s hair

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities

L2 in Barbering

GCSE's in Maths and English at grades A* – C or equivalent qualifications preferred, however functional skills can be gained in college if these cannot be produced

There may be at least one late night per week and Saturday/Sunday work

Training To Be Provided:

NVQ Level 3 in Barbering. You will be trained both at College (one day per week) and in Salon.
