Job Description

Roni has a wealth of experience and will give high quality training. He runs a very busy town centre business which will be extremely beneficial for the chosen apprentice.

 

You will be expected to:

  • Meeting and greeting clients

  • Basic Styling

  • Reception

  • Cleaning rota duties

  • Training

 

A professional approach to this industry is paramount as interaction with the general public is ongoing. The job role will include meeting and greeting clients, making and serving drinks, reception duties and cleaning duties. The barber(s) will expect you to observe whilst they cut, and assist.

 

Training will be given on a weekly basis in the work place; this may follow the college programme. Monthly or weekly meetings/appraisals may be given.

 

The training the college will provide on a weekly basis:

  • Cut men’s hair using basic techniques

  • Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques

  • Dry and finish men’s hair

  • Create basic outlines and detailing in hair

  • Advise and consult with clients

  • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp

  • Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work

  • Colour and lighten men’s hair

  • Fulfil salon reception duties

Functional skills in Maths & English if C (4) is not achieved

No prior skills needed, although a passion for barbering, self-motivation and a willingness to learn are essential

GCSE's in Maths and English at grades A* – C/9-4 or equivalent qualifications preferred, however functional skills can be gained in college if these cannot be produced

Training To Be Provided:

NVQ Level 2 in Barbering. You will be trained both at College (one day per week) and in Salon.
