- Job Description
A professional approach to this industry is paramount as interaction with the general public is ongoing. The job role will include meeting and greeting clients, making and serving drinks, reception duties and cleaning duties. The barber(s) will expect you to observe whilst they cut, and assist.
Training will be given on a weekly basis in the work place; this may follow the college programme. Monthly or weekly meetings/appraisals may be given.
The training the college will provide on a weekly basis:
Provide client consultation services
Provide shaving services
Design and create a range of facial hair shapes
Creatively cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques
Design and create patterns in the hair
Colour and lighten men’s hair
Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities
- Person Specification
L2 barbering qualification and a passion for barbering, self-motivation and a willingness to learn are essential
GCSE’s in Maths and English A – C preferred, however functional skills can be gained in college if these cannot be produced
There may be at least one late night per week and Saturday/Sunday work

Training To Be Provided:
All aspects of N.V.Q level 3 barbering will be trained both at college (one day per week) and in salon.
