Trainee Barber required for busy shop, must already have basic barbering skills.
A professional approach to this industry is paramount as interaction with the general public is ongoing. The job role will include meeting and greeting clients, making and serving drinks, shampooing, answering the telephone, basic cutting and shaving skills, making appointments and cleaning duties.
Training will be given on a weekly basis in the work place; this may follow the college programme. Monthly or weekly meetings/appraisals may be given.
The training the college will provide on a weekly basis:
Cut men’s hair using basic techniques
Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
Dry and finish men’s hair
Create basic outlines and detailing in hair
Advise and consult with clients
Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Colour and lighten men’s hair
Fulfil salon reception duties
- Person Specification
level 2 barbering is desired, a passion for barbering, self motivation and a willingness to learn are essential.
Maths and English at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent qualifications preferred however functional skills can be gained in college if these cannot be produced.
Things to consider
Saturday and Sunday working days.
