Job Description

To provide support to chef, to meet hygiene standards and complete relevant record keeping, develop skills and training through college and onsite experience.

To prepare, cook and serve any food delegated as your responsibility ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained and that agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are met at all times

To assist with the acceptance and storage of deliveries and that all relevant company procedures are adhered to

To adhere to company procedures in regards to temperature checks, food labelling and dating, cleaning schedules and hygiene regulations at all times and ensuring that all records of such are updated and kept

To be flexible in your work and assist colleagues when required

To ensure you maintain your work areas to a clean, hygienic and tidy state at all times

To be punctual for work and report directly to the Supervisor or Manager on duty

To carry out daily and weekly procedures

To supply the highest level of customer care and service whether in the public eye or in the back areas

Qualifications

None required but would preferably like GCSE A*-D in Maths and English or equivalent. You will be required to undertake an initial assessment and interview with the college as part of the application process.

Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship

Intermediate Apprenticeship – Level 2 Professional Cookery

OR

Advanced Apprenticeship – Level 3 Professional Cookery

Proposed Duration

Level 2 Apprenticeship – minimum of 12 months, maximum of 18 months

Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship – minimum of 12 months, maximum of 18 months

Duration can vary depending on commitment/ experience of candidate

Training to be Provided

All aspects of NVQ Level 2 or 3 Professional Cookery or Level 2 Food Production and Cooking. Will be trained in the workplace and assessed either totally in the workplace or one day release at college.
