Company Bio

Vgtec Limited are very much a behind the scenes textile manufacturing business, providing a design and manufacturing service to clients that require high quality, quick turnaround, competitively priced, ethically produced textile products. We only recently introduced a web site to promote our capabilities. We have won the majority of our recent business as a result of supplier/client referrals, word of mouth & through some long term business relationships.

Our UK workforce has grown to 20 people, we have invested in CAD, staff training, process improvements & specialist Plant & Equipment to enable us to provide a diverse ever changing range of products to meet the needs of our clients. Although the vast majority of what we produce is closely linked to police, military & medical applications, we have a philosophy that if it needs sewing, we can sew it.

Job Description

Candidate must be willing to learn

Work within the Sewing Department of the business duties will include;

Operating lock stitch and overlock machines

Reporting directly to the Sewing Room Supervisor, they will receive training from the Sample Machinist, and other machine operators

Initially assist with the sewing of simple/small parts, moving on to producing more difficult parts once experience has been gained and competence shown

The Apprentice will be operating many different machines; aside from sewing, the Apprentice will be required to provide work feed help, product marking & final passing, as well as other tasks as and when required
