Overview

Ask the question 'What is Equality and Diversity' and you will get a variety of answers. There is much confusion, it is often obscured by myths and most people are wary of dealing with Equality and Diversity issues for fear that they may do or say something wrong.

What does equality mean to you? If you ask people to provide their definition of equality and diversity, you're guaranteed to get a variety of answers. This course aims to bring together all the different interpretations of equality and surrounding areas to give you a comprehensive guide of how it applies to a workplace setting.

Some people are wary of dealing with issues relating to equality, diversity and inclusion for fear of getting it wrong. However, under the Equality Act 2010, it is illegal to discriminate against people's gender, race, sexuality, ethnicity, abilities, disabilities, age or background in a workplace. Therefore, employers need to understand how to deal with these potentially sensitive issues correctly and respectfully.

This Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace e-learning module is designed to help learners get a grasp on how to properly orientate your business to these principles.
