This course looks at the important role of budget managers within Local Authorities. It is aimed at anyone who has responsibility for a budget and gives advice and best practice guidance on how to manage public money properly, and achieve best value for the taxpayer.

What will I study?

The course delivers an understanding of local authority funding, how budgets are managed, the different types of expenditure a council might incur, how to recognise best value for money and the procedures you might use in a range of purchase scenarios.
