Overview

The Guild of Beauty Therapists

 

In order to complete the accredited practical element of this course, students will need to become a member of the Beauty Guild and complete the Theory module, upon which you will receive a code (which you will need to provide to ourselves to undertake the practical sessions).

The course is accredited by the Guild of Beauty Therapists, the UK’s leading professional beauty trade body.

This course covers the application of make-up to the face, eyes and lips as well as how to perform a facial cleanse and apply strip lashes. The course also shows you how to adapt your treatment to suit varying clients needs.

How soon after enrolling can I start the course?

Once you have enrolled on the course and paid the course fee, you will have immediate access to the online course modules which means you can start learning straight away. Practical training will take place on a date booked by yourself.

How long will it take me to complete the course?

The time it takes to complete the course will depend on how quickly you learn as an individual, and also on the number of hours per day you spend on it. Most students are able to complete the course within approximately 14 hours of study.

Is the course accredited?

The course is fully accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists for membership and insurance and follows the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for beauty, nails and holistic guidelines.

Is the course accredited for Continuing Professional Development - CPD?

Yes. The course is accredited by the Guild and is worth 26 CPD points.

Am I allowed to refer to textbooks or notes during the examination?

No. You are expected to complete online tests under exam conditions without referring to any notes, textbooks or online help.

What will I receive when I complete the course?

You will receive a GTi certificate which will be mailed to you on successful completion of the course.

Insurance

You can obtain Guild insurance upon completion of your course with a massive discount of £25 if you upgrade within 3 months of enrolling!

Please note you are required to bring a model with you to attend the practical session.

What will I study?

Resources with clear diagrams, images, video clips and voice over are included to give you the best possible learning experience. Reception, consultation and aftercare guidance is covered as well as contra-indications to treatment. The course includes online theory as well as a practical training session at a location of your choice, designed to give you the confidence and ability to offer a full make-up treatment.

The course is beautifully written and accompanied by images and diagrams. On completion of the online theory modules, you will receive a PDF manual which you can refer back to. The modules and examinations are completed online with full online support available. The remaining module is completed at college and consists of a practical and examination at College.

On completion of the course, successful students will receive a GTi certificate which is acceptable for insurance purposes with The Guild of Beauty Therapists.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements.

How will I be assessed?

Following each theory module you will take an online examination which requires a pass rate of around 70%. For the practical module you will need to demonstrate that you can perform the outlined tasks to the skill level required.
