During this course you will learn how to set up a digital workflow using Adobe Lightroom as well as basic editing techniques in Photoshop and preparing images for printing. This is perfect for those interested in cataloguing and enhancing their images using post-production software.
About the Tutor – Sam Johnson:
When not working at Blackburn College Sam continues his freelance photography specialising in beauty, portraiture and fashion.
His work has been published in a number of magazines including Elegant, Dreamingless, Ondine, Scorpio Jin Magazine, Source and Metro. In 2013 he won the Canon UK Fashion Photo Competition and has numerous awards from the BIPP including achieving a licentiateship whilst still a BA student.
He has a first class honours degree in Contemporary Photographic Arts and a Masters from the University of Leeds in Photography and Cinema. His work can be seen at www.samjohnsonimages.co.uk. Some of the famous people Sam is proud to have worked with include:

- What will I study?
The course will include: Navigating both the Lightroom and Photoshop interfaces; enhancing an image; image retouching; white balance correction; working with RAW files; working with layers and layer masks; preparing images for print; adding text to images and converting images for web and email usage.
Mac’s are available in the session for students to use and edit their own images on.
- Entry Requirements
Must be able to use own DSLR / Camera. Access to own Laptop/Desktop Computer would be preferable but not essential as will have use of Mac’s in classroom.

No formal assessment but the tutor will give advice during the sessions
