The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the awarding body of this Advanced Diploma, has developed the range of HR Professional qualifications following extensive consultation with industry to ensure that their programmes are up-to-date and relevant to the HR practitioner.
Equivalent to postgraduate level, CIPD Advanced Level 7 Qualifications are designed for people involved in implementing strategy and developing policies. CIPD Advanced Level 7 Qualifications are the most widely recognised professional qualifications in the field of HR or L&D and are ideal for those aspiring to become a Chartered Member (MCIDP) or a Chartered Fellow (FCIPD) of the CIPD. Successful completion of the CIPD Advanced Diploma qualification will lead to Associate membership of the CIPD (please note that the Award Level 7 qualification does not lead to Associate membership).

- What will I study?
The full Advanced Diploma course will be delivered over 2 years. Below are the units that will run this academic year:
- Developing Skills for Business Leadership (7SBL)
- Human Resource Management in Context (7HRC)
- Learning & Talent Management (7LTD)
- Leading, Managing & Developing People (7LMP)
If you are looking to take the course following a more individual pattern you should make arrangements to speak with the Programme Director to confirm the options that may be available to you.
The full course will be delivered over 2 years and you may choose to pay either (1) modularly or (2) yearly. Direct debit options are available for students paying for their own fees.
Please note that in addition to the programme fees above you will be required to pay direct to the CIPD a joining fee of £40.00 and an annual subscription fee, currently £118 (subject to change) www.cipd.co.uk/membership/become-member/student. In addition, students are recommended to purchase the relevant course text books to support your learning. More details will be provided at induction.
- Entry Requirements
You will need to have achieved the CIPD Level 5 Certificate/Diploma in Human Resource Management or Learning and Development, work at a strategic managerial level in your organisation, or work at a suitably-responsible and strategic role possibly as a HR Business Partner, HR Manager or HR Centre of Excellence professional, in order to benefit from this programme’s content and successfully complete the relevant assessments and activities associated with the programme.
If you have not completed Level 5 with us, the first part of the application process is to submit your up-to-date Curriculum Vitae by email to email@example.com. The Programme Director cannot consider your application until this is received (if you have already done this for this level and have been accepted, you may ignore this part of the process. If you have completed your level 5 with us (or the first year of level 7), your CV is not required).
You may then be either offered a place, or be invited in for interview (or interviewed by telephone) to decide if this is the most appropriate course for you. No monies will be taken until you have been awarded a place on the course. Further joining details will be provided after the initial decision has been taken.

- How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a mixture of written assignments, reports, examinations (7HRC and 7LMP) and skills activities.
