The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is one of the most recognised health and safety qualifications in the construction industry. It is designed primarily for managers, supervisors, and anyone else who is responsible for making sure that construction activities under their control are undertaken safely.
- What will I study?
The NEBOSH National Construction Certificate covers the main legal requirements relating to health and safety in UK construction work, identification, control of construction workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge. It will follow the NEBOSH course syllabus.
The Construction conversion course is divided into two units, each of which is assessed separately:
Managing and controlling hazards in construction activities (NCC1)
Construction health and safety practical application (NCC2)

- Entry Requirements
This is a conversion course and is designed for those who have already achieved, within the last 5 years, the NGC1 (National General Certificate 1) portion of either a NEBOSH National General Certificate or a NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate.

Unit NCC1 Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities
Element 1: Construction Law and Management
Element 2: Construction Site Hazards and Risk Control
Element 3: Vehicle and Plant Movement Hazards and Risk Control
Element 4: Musculoskeletal Hazards and Risk Control
Element 5: Work Equipment Hazards and Risk Control
Element 6: Electrical Safety
Element 7: Fire Safety
Element 8: Chemical & Biological Health Hazards and Risk Control
Element 9: Physical & Psychological Health Hazards and Risk Control
Element 10: Working at Height Hazards and Risk Control
Element 11: Excavation Work & Confined Spaces Hazards and Risk Control
Element 12: Demolition & Deconstruction Hazards and Risk Control
Unit NCC2 is assessed by practical inspection and report carried out in the candidate's own workplace to test the application of taught health and safety principles of a construction workplace.
What will I get at the end of the course?
On successful completion of the Conversion Construction Certificate Course a NEBOSH Construction Certificate will be awarded.
Upon completion and certification the academic qualifications will have been met for Technician status of IOSH (TechIOSH). The certificate also satisfies the eligibility requirements for Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (AIIRSM)
