The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is one of the most recognised health and safety qualifications in the construction industry. It is designed primarily for managers, supervisors and anyone else who is responsible for making sure that construction activities under their control are undertaken safely.
- What will I study?
The NEBOSH National Construction Certificate covers the main legal requirements relating to health and safety in UK construction work, identification, control of construction workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge. It will follow the NEBOSH course syllabus.
The NEBOSH Construction - Full Certificate course is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately:
Management of Health and Safety (NGC1)
Managing and controlling hazards in construction activities (NCC1)
Construction health and safety practical application (NCC2)

- Entry Requirements
The course is aimed at existing Health & Safety Managers, Health & Safety Representatives, anybody with an IOSH qualification who wants to progress further or those who want to manage risks effectively.
It is essential that individuals allocate 5 hours self-directed study per week.

Unit NCC1 Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities
Element 1: Construction Law and Management
Element 2: Construction Site Hazards and Risk Control
Element 3: Vehicle and Plant Movement Hazards and Risk Control
Element 4: Musculoskeletal Hazards and Risk Control
Element 5: Work Equipment Hazards and Risk Control
Element 6: Electrical Safety
Element 7: Fire Safety
Element 8: Chemical & Biological Health Hazards and Risk Control
Element 9: Physical & Psychological Health Hazards and Risk Control
Element 10: Working at Height Hazards and Risk Control
Element 11: Excavation Work & Confined Spaces Hazards and Risk Control
Element 12: Demolition & Deconstruction Hazards and Risk Control
On successful completion of the Full Construction Certificate Course a NEBOSH Construction Certificate will be awarded.
What can I do next?
Upon completion and certification the academic qualifications will have been met for Technician status of IOSH (TechIOSH). The certificate also satisfies the eligibility requirements for Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (AIIRSM).
Unit NCC2 is assessed by practical inspection and report carried out in the candidate's own workplace to test the application of taught health and safety principles of a construction workplace.
