Business (Law) Level 3 Extended Diploma is a 2 year course designed as a specialist programme for students who wish to have a wide range of options for pursuing a career in legal or business environment.
The course will equip you with the skills and qualifications required by employers and universities. Skills in Business and Law will be useful across a range of careers and industries and offer excellent progression opportunities.
You will investigate real businesses; how they are structured, grow and trade; how the law can affect individuals and businesses; and the roles of the legal profession within the UK.
As a student, you will examine criminal and civil cases and how those cases fit within the English legal system. You will also have the opportunity to observe live court cases and visit London's finest legal institutions.

The course is made up of core units and a range of specialist units. These specialist units allow you to explore particular topics in more depth such as:
- Aspects of Criminal Law affecting Business
- Civil Liability
- Legal Systems and Law Making
- Contract and Business Law
- Health and Safety Law
- Entry Requirements
You will need 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 including English Language and Maths or completion of a Level 2 course.
- How will I be assessed?
The course hosts a number of units and all of the subjects are marked by your course tutors. Projects are graded as Pass, Merit, Distinction, or a Distinction* and include a variety of assesment modes; business reports, case studies, business projects, assignments, presentations, role plays, teamwork and exams.
- What can I do next?
Once you have completed your Level 3 Extended Diploma, you will be able to apply to a range of Universities. A triple distrinction in your Extended Diploma gives the same level of UCAS Tariff points as 3 As at A Level.
Many students progress to University Centre at Blackburn College where 9 out of 10 graduates are in work or further study just six months after graduation.
