Worek placements are arranged for you and are local to you, our Placement Team will support you through this process. By gaining work experience it will give you a distinct advantage when progressing your education or going into employment.
- What will I study?
The course consists of 8 Health & Social Care units, which include:
- Lifespan development- from conception to old age.
- Working in Health & Social Care - roles and responsibilities.
- Meeting individual care and support needs - communication, ethics, equality and diversity.
- Physiological Disorders, investigating conditions that affect the body and the relevant treatments.
- Research, how and why research is carried out, focussing on research from the Health & Social Care sector.
You will be required to undertake 4 work placements during this two year course, thereby spending 2 days per week at your placement, which will provide you with a total of 700 hours of work experience which will give you a distinct advantage when applying for University or going into employment. Work placements are arranged for you and are local to you, our Placement Team will support you throughout this process.
For entry to the Level 3 Diploma you must have either Maths or English Language at a grade C/4. During the Level 3 course you will be able to study either Maths or English Language GSCE as part of your study programme.
- Entry Requirements
This programme requires you to have 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4. You must have either Maths or English Language at a grade C/4. During the Level 3 course you will be able to study for either your Maths or English Language GSCE as part of your study programme.
Alternatively you can enter the course upon completion of a Level 2 course a minumum of a merit is required.
A successful DBS check is also required.
- How will I be assessed?
Course assessment will be conducted through exams and assignments.
- What can I do next?
This qualification will enable you to either enter employment within a Health and Social Care setting, or progress into Higher Education, with many of our students undertaking Degrees with Foundation Entry in the areas of Nursing, Social Work, Teaching, Social Science and Counselling.
