Are you over 18 years of age and live in the Darwen? Our Darwen Community Programme has been developed with you in mind.

Our outstanding Blackburn College team will be on-hand at Holker House in Darwen for two initial courses: Digital Employability Skills and Skills for Work Employment Academy (Work in the Care Sector). 

Courses will follow Government guidelines in relation to Covid-19 and a Covid-19 secure risk assessment will be in place.

Digital Employability Skills

Looking to gain confidence when applying for jobs?  We can support you with interview coaching, CV preparation or updating, plus we can help you to make online job applications.

These skills are ideal if you are a jobseeker and need to understand how to use online meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to get access to interviews held remotely. 

The course is free if you are unemployed, claiming a benefit or have an income of £17,374 per year or under.

Duration: Support requirements assessed on an individual basis.  Up to 5x one to one sessions are available.

Location: Holker House, Railway Road, Darwen, BB3 2RG

Business Administration Award

This is a new course set to be delivered at Darwen Community Heritage Centre. You'll gain recognised Level 1 qualification and be introduced to the different roles and opportunities that working in Business Administration  can bring you.

The next course starts on Monday 7th June 2021.

This course is free to those claiming a benefit or earning less than £17,374 per year.

The course will also introduce you to employers who are recruiting in this sector.

The course runs on a Monday and Tuesday, from 9.30am-3pm for 3 weeks.

The course can run flexibly around School hours.
