Motor Vehicle is perfect if you’re passionate about cars and want to make a living repairing, maintaining or selling them. Whether you aspire to be a garage technician, a Formula 1 mechanic or the manager of a dealership – Motor Vehicle courses at Blackburn College are the perfect way to get started on your dream career.

  • Progression to university or employment

    - Motor Vehicle is ideal if you’re looking to progress to a top university or directly into employment in a career-relevant role. Example jobs include: Auto Electrician, Auto Mechanic, Motorcycle and Scooter Technician, Motorsport Technician, Vehicle Customiser and Vehicle Salesperson.
  • First-class facilities

    - You will study in our Regional Automotive Technology Hub (RATH), which was developed collaboratively with leading car manufacturers. You’ll work on real customers’ cars, assist with MOTs and use the same tools and equipment you would find in industry. We even have Formula 1 parts on display!
  • Plugged into the future

    - Did you know that in just over 20 years’ time, petrol and diesel cars will be banned from UK roads? Thankfully, we’re already training electric vehicle specialists and you can be one of them! We’ve even invested in brand new electric charging stations to complement our hybrid and electric vehicle training.
  • Skills that top employers are looking for

    - Participate in a work placement and gain the skills and knowledge top employers will appreciate when reading your CV. We’re partnered with Chorley Nissan, Bowker BMW and Simpsons Skoda to deliver these opportunities.

We have lots of new cars within the workshop to work on and focus on servicing, and taking apart and rebuilding vehicles. My tutors are really supportive and we also take part in work placements, benefiting from partnerships with SKODA Simpson, Chorley Nissan and BMW. Read more >>
