Hollywood glamour comes to Blackburn

HOLLYWOOD glamour came to Blackburn College as they held a star-studded meal to raise money for the East Lancashire Hospice.
Students and guests had the opportunity to dress up as icons including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Clark Gable for their 'Taste of Hollywood' night.
The themed night including a fine-dining four-course meal and was held at Scholars Restaurant on the £65m campus, with the event hosted and created by Year 1 Foundation Degree Hospitality Management (Events Management) students from the College.
The Mayor of Blackburn attended the night along with several charity guest speaker.
Stephanie Haworth, Course Leader, said: “This type of event enables our students to learn hands-on practical skills and, if we’re able to benefit a worthy charity along the way, then it’s even better for both the students and the community.
“The students got into character and were all involved. They worked very hard to create a delicious meal and ensure everyone had a great time.”
