Former Student Has Sights Set on Hollywood

A former Blackburn College student and independent filmmaker is currently developing his debut feature film with the help of producers from Warp Films (This Is England, Dead Man's Shoes) and Anonymous Content, the Hollywood production company behind the Academy Award winning film The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.

Aaron Dunleavy, who studied Creative Media Production and then progressed to the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, is grateful to the College for the opportunities he was presented with. He said:

"My time studying at the College was the foundation for what I’ve gone on to achieve and was a vital progression in developing my passion for filmmaking - which has now become a career that I’m pursuing."

The budding star director has already released two short films - Throw Me to the Dogs and The Truants, the former of which won 9 awards on the festival circuit and received praise from Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle.
