Donation from leading bullet proof vest manufacturer

Blackburn College is the latest College to receive a donation from leading bullet proof vest manufacturer and distributor SafeGuard Clothing. The brand has presented Blackburn College’s Public Service faculty with one of their premium bulletproof vests for in-class demonstrations on safety and threat types. 

SafeGuard’s initiative sees colleges implementing a more hands-on teaching approach that benefits students. The donated tactical vest can be used in role-play exercises that demonstrate how protection against different weapons works. As all SafeGuard equipment is developed based on continuing and strong collaborations with the Police, MOD, Fire Service and Ambulance services – students receive more practical education. Understanding the working mechanics of of a new approach to traditional teaching methods. Students benefit from role-playing with the donated equipment to gain deeper understanding of the working mechanics of bullet proof vests. This gives them considerable advantage in learning how to protect themselves against different threats they are likely to face in field of work they have chosen.

First-hand experience of using such police, military and security personnel level professional equipment will give students at Blackburn College a unique opportunity to get used to the sort of protective clothing they will use when they embark upon their chosen careers.
