Blackburn College Retains Top Careers Advice Accreditation
Blackburn College has once again been awarded international accreditation for delivering impartial information, advice and guidance.
The College’s careers team – The Hub – offers students and members of the public advice about courses, training, careers advice, student finance and counselling, and has been awarded accreditation following an assessment.
The matrix Standard consists of four elements that fit around an organisation’s business themes, including: Leadership and Management, Resource, Service Delivery and Continuous Quality Improvement. During the assessment, members of staff, students and external College partners were all questioned about the quality of provision by an inspector.
Michael Rigby, Head of Student and Administrative Services said: “This accreditation not only confirms the excellent quality of our information, advice and guidance, but is also a requirement of the Skills Funding Agency – so it’s of tremendous importance to the College.”
“Receiving accreditation once again is testament to what we already know; that we are providing students and members of the public with a high quality, impartial service which ultimately supports them in making the right choices regarding their next steps.”
The matrix Standard is an international quality mark which all colleges must have in order to deliver courses for adult learners. It also measures the overall quality of the information, advice and guidance service that colleges offer.
