Jennifer Klunder shares her experiences of working for the NHS
Jennifer, a previous A-Level student at Blackburn College returned to give current students an insight into working for the NHS and provided sound advice as to really getting to know their personal strengths when deciding and applying for any course or career, and encouraged them to aim high in their aspirations.
Jennifer progressed from Blackburn College to study nursing at Liverpool University then started her career in the NHS specialising in major trauma surgery and set up a major trauma unit at Brighton Hospital. Jennifer went onto complete an MSc in Public Health and is currently researching a PhD on surgical practice in the UK and Ethiopia.
Jennifer now teaches undergraduate and postgraduate nurses at Salford University, focussing on the attributes that universities and the NHS are looking for when recruiting.
