Blackburn College Raises Over £180 for Alzheimer’s Society Through Elf Day
Health and Social Care staff and students raised over £180 for charity Alzheimer’s Society after hosting Elf Day at Blackburn College.
Taking place in the College’s Beacon Centre, Elf Day was a Christmas-themed event where staff and students dressed up as Elves or in Christmas accessories.
To raise money for Alzheimer’s Society the students sold cakes for donations and also put on fun games like guess the Elf on the Shelf’s name – where people donated money for the chance to have a guess at the Elf’s name and the winner received a prize.
Jenny Smith, Lecturer in Health and Social Care, said: “It was a wonderful event to be involved in and lovely to raise some money for a great charity just before Christmas. The students were really enthusiastic and put a lot of effort into making Elf Day successful, they deserve lots of credit for their work – I am so proud of them!”
The total amount raised is still rising due to the event’s JustGiving page remaining open. You can make a donation here: https://bit.ly/ElfDay2020
