Blackburn College Celebrates Strong Employer Partnerships
The event formed part of Blackburn College’s National Careers Week celebrations and was attended by some of the most high-profile employers in Lancashire, including Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Blackburn Youth Zone and Together Housing Group.
Guests were treated to lunch at the College’s student-run restaurant, Scholars, followed by a ceremony honouring the partnerships between Blackburn College and its network of industry partners.
The afternoon celebrated apprenticeships and work placements and recognised the support given to College students. Each employer representative received a certificate as a token of gratitude for their continued support.
Claire Shore, Senior Business Development Manager at Blackburn College, said: “Blackburn College is renowned for its brilliant industry links and we were keen to invite our key partners to help us celebrate National Careers Week.”
“We also wanted to give something back as a way of expressing our gratitude for the phenomenal employment opportunities our partners continue to provide for our students. Blackburn College’s strength in delivering employment-focused education is testament to the strong bond we hold with local industry.”
Claire added: “2020 looks to be another exciting year for the College where our extensive provision will continue to support the skills needs of our local economy. Whether you’re a business or an individual, please get in touch if you want to learn how Blackburn College can benefit you.”
